Discourse from My Soul: “Everything is Going to Be Okay”

By Joeel A. Rivera

I want you to always remember that everything is going to be okay.

I know that you want answers. How long will this last? When will I come out on the other side of this crisis and look back at the lessons learned? What are the lessons that I am supposed to learn from this? Why me? And, why now?

The answers will come. They just don’t always come when or how you expect them. Since you were little, you have faced challenges. In fact, you can say that just going from crawling to walking brought about challenges. But soon enough you were off running.

Through every challenge there has always been a blessing that you acquired on the other side.

Sometimes it’s hard to remember those things during times of stress or hardship, but if you take some time to reflect you will realize the countless times that you did not have the answers and the answers came at the right time. These experiences have all been stepping stones. Some stepping stones are heavier than others.

It’s okay to lose your center at times, as well as to cry, feel lost, be frustrated, and get angry. And always remember that no matter what obstacles come your way—everything will be okay. Trust that just like every other time:

This too shall pass.

Remember that those emotions and reactions are not a sign of weakness or lack of faith. They are only signs that you are living a human experience. Weakness would be to deny yourself the full experience and to choose to repress the very things that are trying to guide you through your growth and help open the doors that you came to this life to walk through. No one said it was going to be easy. But, remember that sometimes out of our greatest struggles we find strength, purpose, compassion, love, priorities, appreciation, and meaning. However, we have to be open and willing to listen.

You are not alone and have never been alone.

We are in this together, and you have a lot of positive energy around you. In fact, if you take the time to close your eyes and quite the mind every day, you will find that you will be able to feel the love, support, and a guiding voice that has always been there. Do not resist what IS—the more you resist the less you listen to the flow that is trying to guide you to the lessons that you are supposed to learn. The more you resist, the less you will see the doors opening and hear your internal voice.

Let go of attachments to time, to how it should unfold, and to what the final outcome should be. Be in gratitude for the experience because out of darkness there will come a tremendous light that will illuminate your path and the path of those around you in a way that may not have been possible without this experience. When you close your eyes, say “thank you” for the experience and the blessings that it will bring. Say “thank you” for the blessings that you have now because:

When we learn to see the blessing in everything, we experience the blessing in everything.

You are loved and you are love. Remember that no matter what happens you will not just be “okay,” you will be better than you where before. Trust the journey, and when you need me, just close your eyes and find that quiet place where I will always be there for you.
