Follow Your Heart

By Kathy Rivera Wallace

“Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”—Steve Jobs

Have you gifted yourself with the opportunity to listen to your heart? For many of us, it is an interesting question. As we ponder on it, a plethora of excuses and more questions are likely to follow: What do you mean listen to my heart? How do you do that? I don’t know how to do that! How do I know what to listen for? What type of doctor should I see for that?

Yet, individuals such as the late Dr. Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, and Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (Transcendental Meditation), to name just a few, remind us of what we innately know. The truth lies inside; it resides in the heart. And bold statements like the one above from billionaire, philanthropist and, most notably, the founder of Apple, the late Steve Jobs, remind us that our truth is powerful and we have access to this 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year—from our first breath to our last. Once we accept and understand this free access within, our life becomes paramount. It literally can transform every segment of our existence, from our personal and professional lives to our relationships to our own self-care.

You’ve seen the people who have made this shift. You’ve felt their powerful presence in a loving manner. Those who operate at this level consistently have a different approach to life. It seems as if they are not concerned with the details, the little things in life. Yet, somehow, everything always works out for the best and in their favor. When you talk to these people, you sense and instantly feel the powerful presence they emanate, not from an ego center, but from the heart center.

It doesn’t matter what your heritage is or your what your level of income is, your education, or how many you cars you own—you can generate the courage to go within, listen, and start to experience life the way God intended. Take a moment and do it now. By taking a brief pause and opportunity for reflection, you will start a ripple affect that will impact your life in a positive way. Take several deep breaths, pause, and visualize the connection between your heart and your intuition taking place.

More and more information will surface or just show up as you continue to take the time to go within. You will sense a shift and people will recognize that something is different about you, but they can’t quite put their finger on it. Life will continue to happen but with continued reinforcement of this technique your interpretation of life will change and the ripples of a new current will become powerful. Yes! I have witnessed these shifts in families just because one person decided to operate differently by going within. Can you imagine what this can do for our communities, countries, and the world? I get goose bumps just by writing this.

Stay simple. Stay true!

Mediation is another technique that can help you to go within and seek answers. Choose a type of meditation that speaks to you. I have practiced Transcendental Meditation since July 2014, and the shifts I have experienced since then have been monumental, including the turnaround of a struggling business, improved relationships, and rejuvenated health. These shifts were so significant that people started to ask, “Kathy what are you doing? What’s different about you?” I can remember when my mother and my two nieces approached me and wanted to learn Transcendental Meditation (www.tm.org). I was elated and honored to witness their courage to seek their truth. That was in September 2015, and they have since achieved amazing shifts their lives as well.

“Intuition is seeing with the Soul.”—Dean Kootz

Consider asking your questions in writing. This is a powerful tool you can use immediately, especially if you don’t meditate. You can also include writing with your meditation practice. The Master Jesus taught us:

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7

Start by asking a simple question and witness the answer unfold either throughout the day or at the time when the answer should reveal itself. Give yourself time to experience this part of the journey and enjoy it! With time you will notice how answers start flowing and then watch the magic begin.

One of my favorite reads of all time is a book called The Intelligent Heart, Transform Your Life with the Laws of Love. Authors David McArthur and Bruce McArthur explain beautifully, “The heart is the source of courage, and no courage is greater than that inspired by love.” This sentence is something you should read again and again. Notice how these words resonate within you. They are simple yet almost musical and poetic. At the same time, they carry a powerful and loving force. Indeed, life truly transforms when you operate from the Laws of Love. In other words, going within and listening to your heart and intuition is connecting to a higher level of consciousness and an amazing way of living…You truly Live Vibrantly! The way God intended us all to live.
