Love What You Do, Do What You Love

By Anna Trishch

I recently had the opportunity to visit the San Diego Zoo, and it was an incredible experience! There is always something special about spending time with animals, which can offer us so much positive energy. One of the best parts of the day was “Zoo Man,” a guide who gave an exciting, one-of-a-kind tour. His passion and enthusiasm toward animals was incredible and awe-inspiring. As soon as we embarked on the bus, “Zoo Man,” as I fondly nicknamed him, started impersonating the animals with great skill. He joked and told stories about different residents of the zoo, referring to their unique personalities. He knew every animal by name! The level of devotion he expressed toward his profession was impressive! Everyone on the bus was having a blast, constantly laughing and clapping. The energy around this man was brimming with vitality, passion, and power. He was truly happy and absolutely enjoying his life.

This enthusiasm and energy stirred my soul. Honestly! His core message was so powerful that it reflected all the good things we can achieve in life: success, achievement, fulfillment, and happiness. Summing it up, this message is simple yet so profound: Love what you do. Do what you love.

How many people like what they are doing to earn a living?

I mean, really enjoy their occupation? How many go to work not because it pays the bills, but because of a deeper meaning singing to their soul and mind?

It is a blessing when our occupation merges with our life passion. However, arriving at this place in life is hardly ever the result of simple luck. Finding a career that reflects your heart’s desires and aspirations is usually the result of focus, determination, self-discipline, and hard work. Find a way to turn a hobby into a profitable occupation, and you will never have to work. It is a challenging but rewarding experience when you have the courage to follow your dreams.

If you love what you are doing, it creates true happiness.

If you know how to incorporate your passion into a profitable profession, you will find ultimate life fulfillment. It’s a process: keep searching, stay hungry, ask questions, and take chances—until you find what truly resonates with your heart. It is never too late. Every day offers a new insight, a new perspective, a new opportunity. Never settle for less if you know that you can have more. If your mind comes up with an idea, it has the power to make that idea a reality. Listen to your heart, believe in yourself, grasp the opportunity, and take action. Don’t think too much; the universe doesn’t wait. Life is yours for living to the fullest! You are the creator of your life. You have the incredible power inside.

It is like climbing a mountain: it is hard and challenging—but so worth the effort when you reach the top and can enjoy the view.

I love inspirational stories, books, and movies that help keep this quest for adventure burning strong in my soul. One of my favorites is “The Secret.” When I first watched it, I experienced an intoxicating exhilaration that pumped me up for quite some time because that movie made realizing hopes and dreams look like a breeze. I was expecting my own immediate success story; however, nothing happened. Nothing…and then I became frustrated and disappointed. I understood and embraced all the ideas, but no changes.

Later, I came to understand that dreams don’t work unless we do.

In all my euphoria, I forgot that dreams only turn into reality with focused action!

Once you find out what inspires your heart and brings a smile to your face, don’t forget that taking action is the catalyst that will crystallize those dreams into reality! Life opens up when you do. You have your personal power. Merge it with the power of the universe and it will help you reach your own summit!
