Reflections… Embarking on “The Spiritual Journey”

By Ricky Roberts III

The most beautiful thing about the “spiritual journey” is that there is no one way to embark on it.

Regardless of what our “religious” beliefs are or where and how we find our connection to God, we can honor that it is not the “only way,” and it will not work for everyone. My spiritual journey is unique to my life path, experiences, encounters and truth. Yours is the same.

Finding your way and the deepest connection to God and an understanding of who he/it/she is, is not in the books you read, the religion you adhere to or the name you give it.

Your true connection to your God is within you.

These are all modes and means to be used and stand to offer great benefit to us, but they do not define what one’s spiritual journey should look like or will look like in its fullness.

If we walk our spiritual path looking only through, and at, the external means to connect to it, we are simply scratching the surface of the essence of what it is.

Religions, books, sermons, songs, poems, scriptures will spark, move, teach and guide us, but they are simply the start of the magic that awaits you.

The ultimate awareness of who we are, God is, our purpose, and the meaning of life as a whole, is found within.
