Samvahan Therapy: Healings with a Master

By Pamela Tavella

To meet a Master, a real one, is something rare and unique in life. “I’ve had the ‘luck’ to meet four realized masters,” Dr. Aanand Kambli said to his patients and followers at a meditation retreat where I experienced a profound healing. We were in Puna, India, feeling grateful and privileged to be there, learning from and listening to his words. The circumstances under which we came together varied widely, but we all found healing and wisdom together using his modern adaption of ancient techniques.

I met Dr Kambli after several medical diagnoses, all of which were leading me toward surgery on my right hand. I was not in favor of the procedure. It took this amazing doctor just three days to take away eight years of pain from my arm, and I never stepped into the operation room. Others arrived for health issues more or less serious (paralysis, epilepsy, alcoholism, cancer, lower back pain, etc.), or for emotional trouble (depression, hyperactivity).

Many others arrive to meet Dr Kambli for his teachings in meditation, and his particular Ananda Dhyana, a healing meditation practice that awakens people by helping them to move beyond the body and mind in a few seconds. According to Dr Kambli, energy works in a different manner within each person. We all have a chakra system, which is made up of energy nadis or meridians, but every person’s energy system has a unique makeup. Anana Dhyana focuses on individual recognition. Meditation can be done in group or alone, but the technique focuses on each person under the guidance of the master.

In the process, Dr. Kambli makes an energy map for each person, which is a complete analysis of how one’s meridians and chakras are designed, which blocks are holding that person from a peaceful meditation, and whether physical or mental problems have developed as a result of the blockages. He then assists patients to open their channels, or chakras, allowing the centers to clear and open so that energy can once again flow naturally through the body.

Meditation is not possible when the chakras are blocked. It’s like trying to get water from a closed pipe. The Sushumna (the body’s central energy channel) must be open and clear to allow a state of stillness that facilitates the flow of divine energy. Ananda Dhyana is an assisted meditation because the basic root resides in a traditional teaching where the Master guides and helps students into a deep meditative state. It is much more than a way to attain a peaceful mind; it is a path to daily healing of our body and emotions. It also helps us to make healthy decisions and to think and act with clarity and honesty.

The History Ananda Dhyana

Today, Dr. Kambli teaches and shares the wisdom that has been poured into him through Indian lineages including Dr. Ram Bhosle and Kakasaheb Patwardhan, Samvahan and Siddha Yoga Masters, respectively.

Dr. Ram Bhosle was a world-renown Indian doctor who reinvented the 5,000-year-old art of healing called Samvahan. His practice reached a crescendo under the teachings of Mahavatar Babaji, with whom he lived for six years in the Himalayas. This technique is based on vibrations applied to the spinal cord, especially on the base of the spine, where the Muladhara chakra is situated. Awakening and balancing the energy of this chakra will lead to considerable health improvements, and it has an effect on all organs and energy centers in the body, even those in the deepest corners of the brain. Samvahan has proven successfully in treating thyroid problems, meniscus problems, spondilites, scoliosis, and depression. It also has helped to reconstruct damaged tissue (bones, muscles, and ligaments), to relive chronic pain, and to heal nerve injuries.

To receive a Samvahan session from Dr Kambli is to reconnect with the deepest part of the soul, where the body is completely healed, the mind is in total silence and peace, and the emotions are creating positive thoughts and feelings.

In developing the art of Ananda Healing, Dr. Kambli also was initiated by Kakasaheb Patwardhan as a Siddha Yoga Master. When we hear the word “Yoga” in Western society, we immediately think of some impossible acrobatic posture, accompanied by breathing. However, yoga is a spiritual practice, rooted in the ancient knowledge transmitted by Masters throughout history. The teachings are the base of our human evolution and life purpose, designed to guide and help humankind on the spiritual path.

At the core of his teachings, Dr. Kambli inspires faith, peace and hope. His discourse, which is based on the most ancient traditions, has the capacity to be adapted to our modern times, and it is transmitted in a simple, close-up manner. Through his teachings, people can benefit and understand the importance of meditation and its practice. Without focusing on race, language or religion, we can experience the unity, the divinity, and the flowing energy in us and in our life.

The Ananda Healing System is a revolutionary way of seeing the human being, understanding our existence, and healing. Indian spiritually has never been so well shared and transmitted to the West and in modern India as through the teachings of Dr. Kambli. His legacy is a living legend in a time when we need to find peace of mind and spiritual guidance to move forward and grow.
