Find Your Joy Through Passionate Living

By Rev. Spencer Rouse

When we speak of passion, how often do we apply it to the way we live, the daily choices we make? What IS passionate living, anyway?

Experimenting, exploring, and savoring the moments are certainly part of it. Enthusiasm, light-heartedness, and connection to others are also important, and we can anchor all of this by intentionally creating joy in our lives.

What is joy? It is attuning to Source energy: seeking an elevated connection, and then allowing that high vibration to move through us as we think, speak, and act. Sometimes it feels soft and sweet. Sometimes it bubbles through us, but we know we are experiencing joy when we smile at others because we just cannot contain the positive feeling inside.

Allowing ourselves to create moments of joy is living with passion, with purpose. We can be true to who we really are because there is no pretence, no ego (or small self) in the way. We learn to leave behind the different masks we wear to camouflage our insecurities and to shield our true nature from others.

Leave the Masks Behind

Masks drag us down and separate us from other people and from the guidance of the soul. As we leave more of our baggage behind, we open space for new and better energies to enter. The process takes courage and faith because we are embarking upon a new adventure, where the rules may change. People who live passionately will move forward, trusting in self to make the adjustments. Those who have chosen to create joy also will listen to their deepest guidance: the soul, which gives more profound direction and deep insight than the mind. The soul is really our true self, without the ego, judgment, or attachment. The soul will guide us through our life’s mission if we let it. However, it will step back if we do not intentionally invite it. It is up to us to use our power of choice and free will.

We can say this is living spiritually but, in actuality, everything we do affects our spirituality. We are spirit, and the choices we make can enhance or hinder our growth.

Hiding behind masks slows us down. It is better to participate fully in anticipation of new experiences, unafraid. The desire for masks disappears when we become true to our real selves.

Shifting to Authenticity

Now that the long-anticipated Doomsday is just a memory, what have we learned? Where are we going and how do we get there? Even though the world did not come to a physical end on December 21, 2012, many people are recognizing that something is shifting around us and within us. That shift is creating a desire within many of us to live with passion and joy—to live in harmony with the dictates of our soul’s guidance. It is almost as if we are being led or pushed towards something new and more authentic, individually and collectively.

Old, dense energies are dropping away. The tsunamis, devastating storms, fires, and earthquakes are the results of nature’s rebalancing.

As individuals, we are separating ourselves from what no longer serves us.

This is the natural process of growth; however, that process is now accelerating. We are advancing quickly, sometimes seamlessly, within this new paradigm. Those who are feeling this connection are moving in tune with their souls, more than ever before. It can bring about a gentle focus, a knowing, a sense of purpose and direction. It will also open the space for new and more harmonious opportunities. By living with a high ideal in our hearts, we invite the conditions that help us create that new paradigm in our lives. By holding inner peace and harmony as an ideal for self and others, we find ourselves attracting and being attracted to others with similar mindsets. It does not work to just think about peace and harmony or to just talk about it. We must truly want it from deep inside and support that course of change with action. Action with commitment creates the energetic flow that makes for real transformation.

Some of us are effortlessly drawn together in harmonious groups, with the intent to create something better. The most dynamic impact comes when these groups first intentionally seek joy from deep inside. Powerful energy then ripples across the universe, shifting and changing individuals and groups of people as it moves.

Each one of us is being affected by the new energy that is coming into our planet, but the effects are mixed. Sometimes crises and upheaval appear more prevalent than harmony, but these conditions are temporary. They are necessary to separate the dense energies from the lighter energies. Be assured that in the longer term, people will become kinder, more considerate, compassionate and involved with each other. The walls between us will continue to come down. Life will gradually become simpler. People will communicate more easily. We will continue to connect more and more with the light.

Energy follows awareness, and when we are focused on igniting the sparks of passion in our souls, the amount of joy we can pour into the world is limitless.
